Martin Levick
Genesis Capital Group CEOAfter completing his legal degree, Martin served legal
articles at Cuzen and Woods Attorneys, where he focused on
commercial law and insurance.
In partnership with his father Selwyn, Martin founded the
Genesis group in 1995. As CEO of the Genesis group, Martin has
been successful in building the group into a leading niche
financial services business that employs in excess of 220
people and that incorporates the leading independent financial
planning group in South Africa.
Stan Melnick
Genesis Capital Managing DirectorStan is a qualified Chartered Accountant, having served his
articles with Moores Rowland. Prior to joining the Genesis
Group, Stan was the FD of the House of Busby Limited, a public
company listed on the JSE.
Stan joined the Genesis Group in January 2005 as the Group
Financial Director and took up the position as Group Managing
Director in October 2006.
Darren Shur
Genesis Capital Partners Managing DirectorDarren served articles at Fisher Hoffman Sithole from January
1994 to December 1996 and qualified as a chartered accountant
in December 1996. He spent 17 months in the corporate finance
department of N M Rothschild & Sons (South Africa),
focusing on international merger and acquisition transactions.
Darren joined Peregrine in May 1998 where he was a director of
Peregrine Investment Banking and focused on the group's
private equity portfolio. Darren has been responsible for a
number of highly successful private equity and venture capital
transactions as well as new listings. Darren partnered with
the Genesis Group in August 2006 to form Genesis Capital
Partners.
Gary Levick
Group Business Development ExecutiveGary Levick joined Genesis Capital in 1996 as one of the
pioneers of the group whilst studying Psychology through
UNISA.
Gary is an accredited Commercial Risk Insurance Specialist.
His reputation has been built up over many years both within
the greater Genesis Group as well as amongst Genesis' clients
based on simple principles of delivery, transparency, product
and market trends as well as creating and harnessing mutually
beneficial relationships and a shared vision with clients by
creating a collectively desired objective.
Over the years Gary has had exposure to and added significant
value to many areas of the Genesis Capital Group. Gary’s in
depth knowledge, understanding and passion for our group as
well as skill is utilized at a group level, as opposed to
focusing on a specific area within the business.
Gary identifies and creates new business opportunities for the
broader Genesis Group.
Mandy Turi
Genesis Advisory Services Managing Director Mandy is Managing Director for Genesis Advisory Services
(Pty) Limited, Discovery Life and Invests Number 1 distributor
of Life and Investment Products.
Mandy started her career within the Old Mutual group of
companies and before joining Genesis Capital in 1999 was a
Private Banker with Nedbank Private Bank. Mandy has over 20
years of financial services industry experience, is an active
member of the Compliance Institute of SA and has, prior to her
current appointment, acted as Compliance Officer for the
Genesis Capital Group and its various subsidiaries. Mandy was
appointed as Operations Director for the Genesis Capital Group
in 2008 and in 2012 subsequently taken over the role of
Managing Director for the Wealth Management and Financial
Planning businesses.
Mandy holds a degree in Clinical Psychology (UNISA) and has
successfully completed the International Capital Markets
Qualification (ICMQ) and Private Banking Diploma (RAU) as well
as the relevant FAIS regulatory Examinations.
Alon Perlov
Genesis Advisory Services CEOAlon is Chief Executive Officer for Genesis Advisory Services
(Pty) Ltd, Discovery Life and Invests Number 1 distributor of
Life and Investment Products.
Alon boasts 20 years experience in the financial services
industry. He joined the Genesis Capital Group in 1996. Hard
work and determination to succeed along with the Groups
philosophy of integrity saw Alon taking over the management of
the Wealth Management and Financial Planning Businesses in
2003, appointed Managing Director of these businesses in
August 2006 and subsequently as Chief Executive Officer in
2012.
Alon believes in leading by example, a point he proves every
day to his clients and staff by continuously being a
recognized leader in the industry.
Richard Rubinstein
Genesis Capital Group Financial ManagerRichard graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the
University of the Witwatersrand in December 1990. Thereafter
he joined the South African Revenue Service as a Senior Vat
Consultant.
In May 1999, he took up the position of Financial Manager of
Magnum Global Funds, a JSE listed company. In August 2002, he
joined Genesis Capital as the Group Financial Manager.
Lewis Bloch
Genesis Advisory Services UK Managing DirectorLewis Bloch is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 25
years experience in the Financial Services Industry. A
lifetime member at the prestigious level “Top of the Table” in
the Million Dollar Round Table Organisation, Lewis was
instrumental in building a substantial independent advisory
business which he sold in 2005. During this time he was a
pioneer in arranging joint ventures between firms of Chartered
Accountants and the IFA industry.
Lewis has been given the task of building Genesis Advisory
Services into the leading distributor of protection products
through a highly trained and well motivated sales force. He is
married with three children and has an interest in music and
classic cars.
Shaun Newman
Shaun qualified as a chartered accountant in December 2006,
after completing his traineeship at Grant Thornton.
Following this, he moved to London where he worked in the
market risk department at Credit Suisse.
He joined Genesis Capital Partners in May 2008 and is
responsible for management of the private equity portfolio
companies.
Jeff Wright
Jeff served articles with Deloitte from 1976 to 1980 while
completing a part time BAcc at the University of the
Witwatersrand.He qualified as a chartered accountant in 1981.
He left the profession to join the Barlow Rand group in 1987
where he held various financial positions until the early
90's, when he moved to the Tiger Oats group as general manager
of Beacon Sweets, Transvaal. He then held a number of
operational MD positions in the Group before being appointed,
CEO of Tiger Agri and Poultry Group (currently Astral Foods
Ltd).
In August as part of a takeover engineered by Brait, he joined
the OTK group (Afgri Ltd) as deputy MD, in October 2002. He
was appointed Group Managing Director, a position he held till
he resigned in July 2008.
After that he joined the CBH Ltd group as CEO where he served
until June 2013.
Adam Nathanson
Financial ManagerAdam qualified as a chartered accountant in December 2005,
after completing his traineeship at Grant Thornton.
Following this, he moved to London where he worked in
Financial Accounting at Credit Suisse and as the Financial
Manager at United Trust Bank.
He joined Genesis Capital Partners in March 2013 as the
Financial Manager.
